TK Engineering Oy has developed a CiA 408 device profile compliant four-edge valve controller. The four-edge valve controller simplifies the control of hydraulic cylinder piston velocities. The piston velocity is controlled through a standardized CAN communication interface specified by the CiA 408 device profile. The modular implementation of the controller enables it to be easily integrated into control systems.
Tampere Vocational College Tredu approached TKE with the need for a truck driver training tool. The main goal of the tool was to increase effectiveness and safety of the truck driver training process. TKE delivered TKE Driver applications to Tredus Volvo and Renault trucks.
TK Engineering executed a project for a customer that utilized CANtrace’s Python scripting to decode float signals from channel multiplexed CAN messages. This meant that the signals were converted to fixed point and transmitted without multiplexing on a virtual CAN channel, allowing the data to be plotted and logged like standard CAN signals. Python code was also used to log CAN channel data in multiple CSV files for spreadsheet analysis.
TK Engineering designed a display application for truck cargo space heater for SSC Climate Group Ab. The application gives the driver a way to control the heaters temperature set value, monitor the current temperatures and the possible error states of the system from the cabin. That way the driver can ensure a precise temperature for the cargo during the entire transportation.
TK Engineering installed TCS-10 CAN switches in an energy storage system (ESS) in the Netherlands. The system can store energy from the grid, ideally when produced by the vast quantities of local renewables, and then supply the grid with stored energy during periods of high demand. This system reduces the need for fossil based balancing plants and when used in conjunction with low-carbon renewables reduce the energy system carbon footprint significantly.
TK Engineering, a specialist in distributed control systems, has developed a control system solution for a translifter implementation. Contik approached TKE to design and develop a control system solution for a prototype translifter project. The customer was in the process of developing a new line of translifters with better performance, cost effectiveness and reliability. Read more
When Maritime Research Institute Netherlands built larger and more complex simulations and test facilities they realized that they were limited by the size of the CAN Network and by the length and speed of the CAN bus used to control the test equipment.

In this case study TKE has used a combination of the Kvaser Memorator Pro 2xHS v2 and the CANtrace CAN analyzer to help a customer realize collection and logging of diagnostics data from a prototype electrical truck. This case was made in cooperation with Elways AB in Solna, Sweden.
In 2016, the City of Tampere decided to build a tramway system. The city ordered 19 modern ForCity Smart Artic trams from Transtech Oy (part of Škoda Group). The contract also includes a three-stage option for the delivery of a maximum of 46 additional trams. ForCity Smart Artic will have a 1,435 mm track gauge. The three-section tram will be bi-directional and able to accommodate a total of 264 passengers. Operation in the demanding climate conditions is ensured with a durable bogie and wheelset structure.
