Funtionality
Owa4X operates as an intelligent Linux-based edge gateway for collecting, processing, and transmitting data from vehicles, machines, sensors, and industrial systems. It connects directly to CAN buses, wireless networks, GNSS systems, and external I/O devices, enabling real-time monitoring, remote diagnostics, telematics, and machine-to-cloud communication.
Using its open Linux environment, the owa4X allows developers to create custom edge applications in languages such as C and Python. The gateway can process data locally and send only relevant information to cloud platforms or control centers, reducing bandwidth usage and enabling faster system response times.
The device supports advanced telematics and fleet management functions including vehicle tracking, operating data recording, remote monitoring, and digital tachograph downloads. Integrated GNSS, CAN connectivity, digital and analog I/O, and optional dead reckoning features make it suitable for demanding industrial and off-highway applications.
Its rugged IP67 enclosure, low-power modes, and optional backup battery support ensure reliable long-term operation in harsh environments such as construction machinery, mining equipment, agriculture, and transportation systems.
