Processes

Processes are the cornerstones of IoE

All technologies and information flows are required by one or more processes. Processes are indeed the keystones for IoE and are facilitating interactions between people, things, and data. Within correct processes enables that network connections provide the right information, delivered to the right person, at the right time and in the most relevant and in the appropriate way. With the correct processes, connections become more valuable.

Processes are systematically designed and managed

Business has dozens of processes, which can be complex to manage and require people with knowledge and experience in order to constraints higher-level efficiency. By examining existing processes the most value-add activities and bottlenecks can be identified and optimized. Deep understanding of the processes is a mandatory prerequisite for successful development projects. By going through a comprehensive process value analysis, a process variable or process parameter is being monitored or controlled. Implementing IoE processes results rapid improvements by increasing the formality and flexibility of processes and ensuring that they are applied everywhere.

Processes are facilitating interactions between people, things, and data

IoE brings all together by combining machine-to-machine (M2M), machine-to-people (M2P), and people-to-people (P2P) connections. Processes are in the basis of all industrial activities such as logistics (e.g. people or material) production (e.g component manufacturing, materials) design (e.g model-based design, SW, systems, electrics, hydraulics, mechanics) and after sales and maintenance (e.g regular services, troubleshooting, repairs, retrofits). All of these interactions provide valuable input for the outcome.
